Crystal Vaccaro
As a Chicago native, Crystal Vaccaro moved to Denver excited to continue her passion for the arts by showing at numerous galleries in the Denver/Boulder area. As a young emerging artist Crystal began this distinct representation of mixed media while composing a piece for a friend to memorialize his late mother. In trying to combine poetry with photography she incorporated vellum into the piece to find translucence in the image as to continue to be able to read the words of the author. Her process is unparalleled to most common media by printing on vellum, tearing the image, reassembling it, and adhering it to the back of antique windows. Only being able to clearly see the finished image of each piece once it has dried allows for each piece to truly be unique. These modern mosaics support Crystal’s long love of photography and exploration in the craft of mixed media. She insists on changing her media and style to improve her overall craft in order to discover art in all forms. Never wanting to miss an opportunity to try something new, Crystal states that she is in “the constant pursuit of a regret free life!”
